Tottenham Brick House
A new build three bedroom house
Satish Jassal Architects has secured planning permission for a new-build, net zero carbon three-bedroom house in Tottenham, Haringey, delivering a high-quality family home on a constrained infill site.
Located at the end of an existing terrace, the project utilises part of an underused rear garden, carefully introducing new development within an established residential setting. The design responds sensitively to the scale and character of the surrounding homes, completing the terrace while maintaining a clear and contemporary identity.
The two-storey house has been developed to maximise natural light, outlook and privacy, while minimising impact on neighbouring properties. Its siting and massing ensure a balanced relationship with adjacent homes, addressing typical planning considerations associated with garden development.
Sustainability is central to the proposal. The house is designed to achieve net zero carbon in operation through a fabric-first approach, supported by on-site renewable energy technologies.
This project demonstrates how small, underutilised urban sites can be unlocked to deliver sustainable family housing, contributing to housing supply while respecting existing neighbourhoods.
