Seven Sisters Council Homes, Haringey

45 new Council Homes

Satish Jassal Architects have designed a masterplan for 45 new council homes on behalf of Haringey Council at an existing estate in Seven Sisters. The masterplan strengthens the east to west connection by knitting the 1890s and 1970s urban grain together.

It provides new public spaces within a comprehensive landscape, improvements to the existing estate and new-build council homes for rent. The accommodation consists of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, maisonettes, 3 and 4 bedroom houses and wheelchair apartments.

The architectural proposal is a ribbon of stepped brick buildings that step in plan and elevation reacting to the existing context, utilising a simple palette of materials consisting of red and white brick, coloured aluminium and stone.
