Hackney House

A new five bedroom house on the back of an existing retail unit on Mare Street, Hackney

Satish Jassal Architects have designed a five bedroom three storey house, on the back of unsightly existing retail unit in the Clapton conservation area of Hackney. The new house creates a positive frontage to this backland site and encloses the rear of this urban block.  It has been developed with consideration to the master plan for the adjacent St John’s at Hackney site. The façade composition of the house been arranged to avoid overlooking to neighbouring properties and look towards a new public square.
