Havering Rural Homes

A new rural housing community

We are proposing eight detached homes in total, with a mixture of three and five bedroom detached houses on a brownfield site located in Havering’s green belt.

The homes are organised around a central communal garden. The intention is that this garden will be used for outdoor recreation by the residents. The family homes are oriented around the perimeter of the central garden to evoke a community spirit and to provide a safe, watched area for children to play and for adults to enjoy. It is intended that the central garden will be landscaped with natural ponds, wild flowers and grass which are ingenious to the local area and which will promote the bio diversity of the site.

The family homes have been designed with traditional forms, such as pitched roofs and dormers and the intention is to use traditional materials such as slate, brick and timber. Each home has been designed to fully comply with the London Housing Guide and Lifetime Homes. Where possible, first floor terraces have intentionally been provided so that residents can enjoy the wider landscape at a raised level.
